Muslim-Christian Dialogue

How Do We Pray?

Friday, May 13, 2016
7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Richardson Room

For months our Rector has been part of a group of Muslim and Christian clergy who gather to study scripture and share theological reflection.  They have become a gathering of friends, and now seek to share their experience with the congregations they lead.

This event is the second in a series which will move from one faith community to another.  The clergy will share a dialogue typical of our conversations, followed by questions and small group discussions.  We gather to share our common commitments and to explore our differences in viewpoints. Sharing the gift of hospitality will hopefully lead to new friendships, shared ministry, and perhaps new small groups for members of church and mosque.

The first meeting, at the Ezher Bloom Mosque/Institute for Islamic Studies in Fairfax, focus ed on the question, How Does God Speak?  This second meeting will address the question, How Do We Pray?

In the month of June, the mosque will join with our Christian congregations for iftar dinners during the fast of Ramadan.  Then in September the series will move on to the other congregations.
